RUSSELL CHERRINGTON

"Script to Screen - A Film Maker's Journey"

Ever wondered what happens to that great idea or story? Russell Cherrington will give an illustrated talk on adapting a novel into a film, casting and working in the Hollywood system.

Russell Cherrington was born in Lancaster and fell in love with cinema with Star Wars and the films of the 1970s; Blade Runner made him want to make films. He has written and directed films for the cinema: Hold Me and To The Devil His Due. His screenplays include Coming to Grief, Jacqueline Ess and The Damnation Game for Seraphim Films.

He is the course leader of MA Digital Film and MA Scriptwriting, and is a Senior Lecturer in Film Production at the University of Cumbria.
