The weekend kicked off to a lively start on the Friday evening with a ceilidh featuring Thrice Brewed. The literary action began on Saturday morning when book token prizes were presented to the winners of the Festival's Children's Poetry Competition and the talented youngsters read their poems to a delighted audience. There then followed a wealth of talks and workshops during the day and musical events in the evening. With barely time to sleep, Sunday at the Festival kicked off with more talks and workshops culminating in the afternoon with sessions from two of Cumbria's established young writers with international reputations: poet Jacob Polley and award winning best selling novelist Sarah Hall.
